Étienne Calsac
  • WHO
Nicola Gatta, born into a winemaking family in Gussago, launched his own project in 2003-2004, inspired by exceptional wines crafted with care. His approach diverges from traditional Franciacorta, focusing on terroir-driven wines made with
    the classic method.
  • WHERE
Nicola’s vineyards in Gussago span 6 hectares, featuring Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, along with rare varieties like Barbera and Marzemino. He adheres to biodynamic principles, and his ancient seabed soils nurture distinct crus with unique characteristics.
  • PHILOSOPHY
Nicola’s approach prioritizes minimal intervention, with each cru vinified separately through spontaneous fermentation, no filtration, and no added sulfites. His wines are aged on lees to highlight terroir, and he produces around 45,000 bottles a year, capturing the authentic spirit of his vineyards.
